RPT-UPDATE 1-Intesa CEO Cucchiani ousted after boardroom clash | | MILAN, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Italy's largest retail bank Intesa Sanpaolo ISP.MI ousted CEO Enrico Cucchiani on Sunday, after he clashed with the powerful chairman of the lender's supervisory board and several influential shareholders. In a statement after a hastily convened meeting of its management and supervisory boards, the bank said Cucchiani would be replaced by his deputy Carlo Messina, who was already in charge of the retail network. The bank gave no reason for Cucchiani's abrupt departure. |
